This week is Chelsea week. The Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show. I’m enjoying the nightly BBC TV coverage as usual. Some of the designs are absolutely fab. It always makes me want to get doing something in my own garden. As well as the plants I sit on my sofa lusting over the gorgeous stonework and wooden architecture and things. Oh to have a bottomless pit of money.
Here’s a link to the RHS Chelsea website.

And here is a link to the BBC’s i-player where you can see some of the coverage (hopefully anyway) but if you want to watch it’s only available for 4 more days.

I’d love to go, but I always forget it’s happening until the day before it starts and by then all the tickets have sold out. Perhaps I’ll be more organised next year…
I’ve not seen a peep of the TV coverage this year; very unusual for me especially if Mr Monty Don is to be seen!
I’ve started lusting after a trip to the Chelsea Flower Show… it makes me feel all grown up, like listening voluntarily to The Archers.
Having just spent nearly £200 on plants for my tiny patch, I’m yearning for that bottomless pit of money too.
UHDD – I heard the other day that Monty has had a stroke which is the reason for his absence from our screens at the moment. 😦 Get well soon Monty. He’s taking some time off and hoping to be back after the summer. (I have to admit as far as presenting is concerned, I can’t help but like Mr T the most! These days I also have a soft-spot for the rather nice looking Messrs Beardshaw and Sturgeon too. 🙂 )
Jen – I totally agree (although I have yet to start listening to the Archers!) It’s alarming how easy it is to spend money on plants, but look after them well and they’ll hopefully bring you lots of years of enjoyment and be pennies well spent. 🙂
